StahMeNah's Biography

StahMeNah is an artist with a flare of a modern Caribbean sound, consisting of a blend of Dancehall, Reggae, Pop and original sounding beats. StahMeNah will offer something new and refreshing to his listeners. 

This self-produced release was engineered by Laurinton Garreth Warren “StahMenah” at the StahMeNah Records studio in Halifax, Nova Scotia. On July 11th, 2010 StahMeNah Rewind was release online worldwide and is now available for download digitally from iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody and several other online distribution sites.

As a debut album, StahMeNah Rewind is just the beginning of what is to come from StahMeNah and StahMeNah Records.

StahMeNah was born on a beautiful little island in the Caribbean call St. Vincent and the Grenadines but moved to Montreal, Canada in 1975 with his mother, 4 siblings.

StahMeNah grew up listening to a wide range of music, but Reggae has always been his favorite. While living in Halifax, StahMeNah has opened for the hip hop group Universal Souls. He has also opened for Halifax's two other reggae groups Verbal Warning and Andru Branch & the Halfway Tree. On November 28th, 2010, StahMeNah opened for Jamaica’s own Serani, one of Jamaica’s well know reggae artist at the Palace Night Club in Halifax. He has also had several shows of his own around the Halifax area including Chester Relay for Life and has been interviewed several times on CKDU 88.1fm Dalhousie Radio Station. 

As a means of releasing his own music, Stahmenah started his own indie Label called Stahmenah Records in 2008.

Achievements: 
January 9th, 2010: Nominated as Artist of the Year at the African Nova Scotian Music Association Award show at the Casino Nova Scotia.

December 20th, 2010:chosen as one of the showcasing artist to perform on the RBC Discovery stage. The awards are being held in Beautiful P.E.I. from April 13th - 17th 2011

January 20th, 2011: Nominated for World Recording of the year at the 2011 East Coast Music Association awards

January 27, 2012: Nominated for World Recording of the year for the Album Rasta Love at the 2012 East Coast Music Assoiciation Awards ECMA..

January 27, 2012: Nominated African - Canadian Recording of the year for the Album Rasta Love at the 2012 ECMA

January 27, 2012: Nominated African - Canadian Recording of the year for the Album Stahmenah Rewind at the 2012 ECMA.

September, 2012: Nominated for Urban Recording of the year at the Nova Scotia Music Week.
